In 1994 the British government were working on a peace plan with the IRA.
In the background a plan to hit the IRA hard and take out many of their operatives was being put in place should the peace plan not come to fruition.
The British government, in the hope that peace was possible, shelved the plan.
But there were those who felt it was important that the IRA be taught a lesson that would bring them to the negotiating table.
Things started to go wrong when a lower echelon IRA operative was assassinated in New York. The method was a classic SAS operation.
Before long the bullets and the bombs were exploding.
It took ex-SAS man Same Richardson and a quiet Irish American CIA analyst,Francis Duggan, working together, to finally find out who was at the root of the horrors.
The action ranges from New York, London, Holland, Belfast and the Florida Everglades.

Having read 'Ring of Red Roses'. Eddy Shah's first novel, I followed up with 'Fallen Angels.'Like his first novel, this one clips along at a fast pace, never devoid of action or interconnection, both hostile and close, between the characters. It takes place during the 1990's, just before the peace process, and is both warm and brutal in its understanding of the various factions that made up this bitter conflict. It is about a plan the British government considered to wipe out the whole of the IRA leadership in one hit, a modern version of the Nazi 'Kristallnacht' in 1938.
The book had great reviews when it was published as a hardback.The Kindle version has been tidied up, but still reflects the period it was written about. I look forward to reading his other three books.
