One of the things I love about this series is it's real people falling in love, the highs and lows of love between the H/h, and not just the couple but the ripple effect of the love and relationships between friends and family. How the hardships of life, even the good times, drive us, mold and shape us, bring us together as much as tear us apart. Foss makes it so easy to fall in love with these characters. I loved seeing Lawrence as a young man, who we met in Shiver and Swoon. Even Lawrence's brother Shane appeared in Jock. He had only been mentioned in Swoon but had left his mark. In Jock, the impact of his relationship with his siblings and parents leaves a longer lasting impression on the reader.Jock is focused on Tessa Brooks, Lawrence's baby sister, and Jace Hitchen, her big brother's best friend and surrogate protector. Growing up around horses, strong and fierce, Tessa dreamed of being a Jockey. A dream she worked hard every day to make come true. Jace grew up watching Tessa, a fiesty little trouble maker, who he always had a strong need to protect. Slowly, and naturally, friendship turned to something more. These two were so cute together. Tessa doing her best to keep things casual as she focused on riding and trying to balance all the people in her life, and Jace making it more than clear they were no longer just friends...or casual. As the pressure to succeed in her field and balance all the things in her life weigh heavy, the couple is challenged to figure out how to make things work.
Foss has a natural ability to bring relatable emotion to the characters and story. It draws you in. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you want to sit at family dinner and share in the crazy. Personally, I would suggest reading Shiver and Swoon first. There are little details in the story that come from those books that would be spoiler-ish if you haven't read them. I'm so excited to keep going with these characters. They are becoming some of my favorites.

Tessa was a strong & sassy girl and I just fell in love with her. She's working in a man's world and holding her own just fine. Jace was such a sweet, patient guy. I really loved his character and his protectiveness of Tessa. also learned a lot about horse racing. I had no idea.
This book had me from the first page. I loved the characters...Tessa was tough and determined and ugh I love her! Such a great story... it just ticked all the boxes for me....heartwarming, real, funny, strong characters that could be someone you know. Engaging and realistic........I didn't want it to end at all. I need more!
Ah I loved this. I've trained horses all my life so I got this book, but even if you haven't you would love this story. Jace and Tessa are awesome. A perfectly imperfect couple who are both dedicated to living out their dreams. CM Foss is a wonderful author and you won't be disappointed with her books!
I LOVE CM Foss's characters! I love the families and links she builds. I love the humor, spunk, & love! I really enjoyed the structure of Jock, getting to know Jace and his background for 11 chapters then switching to Tessa's POV. highly recommend this & all of CM Foss's titles. I can't wait to read more! I think I can guess who the next couple will be.
As I watched the Melbourne Cup, an international race event, a female jockey won. I understood the effort she went to because I was reading this at the same time. Pretty cool achievement . Anything CM Floss writes is great, I just click "buy" because I trust she will entertain, enlighten and enrich my world.
I'm not sure this woman knows how to write a disappointing novel. CM Foss manages to wrap up your emotions and take you on a journey you just weren't expecting. She plays your feelings like a fiddle, dancing back and forth between heat and sweet, laughter and sympathy like a maestro conducting a symphony.
I would never have imagined that a book about a horse jockey would center around such poignant and heartfelt decisions that practically everyone can relate to. I spent this book truly rooting for Tess and Jace. There were so many obstacles for them to overcome, and there were times where I truly felt their hopelessness. To see their problems and concerns played out with such realism and raw emotion was a true pleasure to read.
This is yet another book that I need to grace my shelves. Tess and Jace are right up there with my favorite couples, and this is definitely a book that deserves to be read, and then read again.

Tessa is far from normal and that's just the way she likes it. She is stubborn and has her mind set on what she wants and will do whatever she has to do to achieve it. That is until that one person who has always been there for her, alters her path.
Jace has always had a soft spot for Tessa. He's loved her ever since he laid eyes on her. But that's his best friend's sister, so it pretty much no go from the beginning. Over the years his resolves weakens and he just can't escape his true feelings.
Tessa and Jace's story is so special. At one moment, I wasn't sure if the relationship was going to happen but when it did... my goodness! Too good to be true!
I love this couple so much...Tessa is so stubborn and set in her way and jace is always there to support her no matter what.
Cm Foss has yet another masterpiece on her hands! This is a must read!!!!
